It is also one of your most important marketing tools.
Before people have even spoken to you or walked into your shop, they can “get to know you” via your website.
Your website will affect whether those people take the next step with your business or not.
It is also a tool that can make life easier for you.
It can reduce the number of calls about opening times so your staff can focus more energy on the important stuff.
It can prequalify your customers so they feel confident in choosing you and your service and you feel assured what you offer is in alignment with their requirements.
It can do so much more.
Website Creation Process
This is the website creation process if we build you a site from scratch. Every person’s website creation journey is a little bit different but here’s an example of a typical website building process.
All meetings can happen in person or online depending on your location. I live in Bega.
1. Free Chat 30-minutes
In the free chat we will discuss what you want your website to do, what is going on with your domain and hosting, other sites you like and the pricing of your project. I will also gauge whether I think I can help you or if I need to refer you to a colleague who delivers other services that I don’t provide like SEO, branding, photography or copywriting.
If we both feel good about it, we proceed to Step 2, the Initiate Project Meeting.
2. Initiate Project Meeting 1-hour
At this meeting we will outline the timeline of the project, who your website inspirations are, which pages exactly you want, what will be in the navigation and the kind of look and feel you’re after. We will also make sure I can access your domain and hosting. That might involve buying domain and hosting or simply logging me in to an existing account. I will also outline what content I need you to send over to me, usually the words and images for the webiste.
I will then have enough information to create 3 draft pages and we proceed to Step 3, the Create Draft Pages stage.
3. Create Draft Pages
I like to start the build with a minimum of 3 draft pages. I make these quickly with a view to simply creating something we can say “No” to. These might include using templates or mimicking a website you like. They will be built either on my site or on your site, hidden from the public.
In the meantime, you will be gathering your words and images for the website and popping them into a Google Drive folder for me to use.
I will send the draft pages to you for review and we will continue on to Step 4, the Drafts Review Meeting.
4. Drafts Review Meeting 30-minutes
At this meeting we look at the draft pages together. Hopefully you have a list of what you like and don’t like. I will have sent you the drafts to view 3-5 days before this meeting so you have time to gather your thoughts about what you see.
I want hear what you like and dislike overall, which shapes you like, which button style you like, if you want more white space and so on. You get to be critical and honest with me.
By now, you have your images and words ready for me in a Google Drive folder so I can go away and build the website in Step 5, Website Building.
5. Website Building
This is the video montage part where I’m tucked up in my office (sometimes bed 🙂 ) creating your gorgeous new website, with all of your words and images. I may send you previews if I’m not sure about something but mostly, I am confident about what you want and am in my website wizardry phase.
Once I have the website pages ready, it’s time for Step 6, Website Handover Meeting.
6. Website Handover Meeting 30-minutes
It’s time!
Your beautiful new website is ready.
At this meeting we will look at the website together to make sure we are both really happy with what we see. There may be last minute tweaks and then we are ready to launch (whatever that means to you).
If you have requested training videos I will have access to them ready for you along with your log in details and any other infomration you need to step forward. Ta-da!

I support my clients to buy their domain and hosting and then create a gorgeous, simple WordPress website using Divi theme.
Many of the “built from scratch” projects included MailChimp set up and integrations, WooCommerce for selling on the site, SSL certificate set up & redirects from the existing site.
